Cucumber – Tomato Salad

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 cucumber(s)
  • 2 beefsteak tomatoes
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 tsp cumin, ground
  • 300 g yogurt
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds, black

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Peel the cucumber, halve it lengthwise, remove the seeds, and slice each half. Halve the tomatoes crosswise, remove the seeds, and dice. Peel and roughly chop the onion. In a bowl, mix the yogurt with the cumin and a pinch of salt until smooth. Add the cucumber, tomatoes, and onion. Heat the oil in a small pan, add the mustard seeds, and briefly roast over medium heat, covered (the seeds will pop!). Add immediately to the salad and toss everything thoroughly. Let stand for at least 30 minutes before serving.
