Beef minute steaks for grilling, marinated with maple syrup
With the portion size of 300g of beef for five people, I’m assuming that these steaks won’t be the only thing guests will eat at a barbecue, but that everyone will have a steak and then other dishes like sausage, shish kebab, or satay skewers. If this is the only meat being served, 300g is only enough for two people. 300g is about five beef minute steaks, i.e. slices about 5mm thin. The meat should be tender, well-hung, and as free of tendons as possible. For the marinade, peel and grate fresh ginger root (preferably tender and not stringy on the inside). Mix the ginger with the liquid ingredients and season generously with pepper to taste. Wash the meat, place it in the marinade so that everything is covered and the marinade gets everywhere, even between the pieces of meat. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least overnight. However, you can also let it stand for up to two days. Remove the meat from the marinade, drain, pat dry with kitchen paper and grill on the charcoal grill for about 30 seconds on each side until cooked through.
