suitable for use in bread makers
To make the dough in a bread maker, first add the milk, oil, sugar, and salt. Then add the flour and yeast. Kneading and proving the dough in the “yeast dough” program takes about 1.5 hours, depending on the machine. Alternatively, the dough can of course also be prepared by hand! While the dough is proving, prepare the filling. Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl. Roll out the finished dough thinly on a lightly floured surface and spread the filling evenly. Then roll the dough lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet in a rope or wreath shape. Cut the surface in a zigzag pattern with scissors. Braiding the dough strands is not necessary with this technique! In a convection oven, the braid takes about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. After baking, the braid can be covered with icing if desired. The braid tastes best while still warm!
