Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 2 oranges
- 4 tsp, heaped powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. clove powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 50 g butter
- 2 tbsp hazelnuts, chopped
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes
You need large, juicy oranges, the kind that will easily come off the skin after cooking. Of course, you can also scrape off some of the flesh with a thin-walled dessert spoon before topping. Then, completely remove the inner fruit with a knife. If you’re careful, it looks almost as beautiful, but the dessert can be eaten without much trouble or orange juice splashing. To finish, halve the oranges and, if necessary, flatten them slightly with a knife. Place them on a square piece of aluminum foil. Sprinkle a thick layer of powdered sugar on top. Finely grind the cloves in a mortar and pestle, mix with the cinnamon, and spread over the orange halves. Now place a large piece of butter on each half. Now crumple the aluminum foil—do not close it, and only half as high as the orange. It’s just to protect the melted butter. Grill the oranges for at least 5 minutes. Sprinkle the chopped hazelnuts over the hot oranges and enjoy the sweet dessert.
