Apple Amarettini dessert with caramel note

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 apples
  • 1 handful of biscuits (amerettini)
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • Sugar to taste
  • possibly Grand Marnier, a shot

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Peel, core, halve, and cut the apples into approximately 2 mm thick slices. Drizzle with the juice of half a lemon and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, crumble the amaretti biscuits until they are about 3-5 mm in size. Heat a pan, briefly toss the apples with the lemon juice without fat, and warm them up. Sprinkle with sugar and let it caramelize. There shouldn’t be too much caramel. Now add the crumbled amaretti biscuits, toss to combine, and add a little more sugar. Deglaze with a little Grand Marnier, water, or lemon juice, if desired. Best served lukewarm!
