Rump steak with mushroom and cheese crust

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 180g rump steak(s)
  • 50 g sheep’s cheese
  • 3 mushrooms
  • 1 shallot(s)
  • 2 spring onions
  • 2 cl wine, white, dry
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil for frying
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit). Fold the rump steak into a circle and secure it with a toothpick. Clean the mushrooms and peel the shallot. Then dice the mushrooms and shallot, and slice the spring onions. Fry the diced mushrooms in hot butter, then add the shallot and finally the spring onions. Season with salt and pepper, pour in the white wine, and crumble the cheese over the mushrooms. Continue to simmer, stirring constantly, until the cheese has melted. Set the mushroom and cheese mixture aside and fry the salted and peppered steak in hot oil for 2 minutes on each side. Then spread the mushroom and cheese mixture over the steak and return it to the oven for 5 minutes.
