Sloe gin

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g sloes, ripe, which have experienced a frost
  • 150 g rock sugar, white
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 1 bottle of schnapps (grain)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

according to an old recipe

Wash the sloes thoroughly and place them in a bottle with the sugar. Add the split vanilla pod and pour the seeds over the berries. Seal the bottle and let it stand in a bright place (e.g., a windowsill) for 6-8 weeks. Then filter the liqueur, pour it into bottles, and store them in a dark place. Tip: Harvest the sloes before frost and place them in the freezer. Once the liqueur is filtered and bottled, feel free to leave it in the cellar for a few years; it will improve with age.
