Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 2 ½ kg potato(s), waxy
- ½ bulb(s) garlic
- 4 bay leaves
- 1 tbsp, leveled salt
- 100 g butter
- e.g. milk or cream
- ½ nutmeg, grated
- e.g. Parmesan or other cheese, grated
- n. B. herbs
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
Peel the potatoes and cut into 2-3 cm cubes. Place in a pot and cover with water. Peel the garlic and cut into very large cubes or leave whole, then add to the potatoes. Add the salt and bay leaves and cook for about 30 minutes, until the potatoes are tender. Drain the water and remove the bay leaves. Add the butter and a little milk to the potatoes and garlic and mash everything with a potato masher. Add milk until the desired consistency is reached. Grate the nutmeg into the mash and stir everything again, seasoning with salt if desired. Other ingredients, such as cheese or fresh herbs, can now be added if desired.
