Ingredients for 15 servings:

  • 100 ml milk
  • 100 ml oil (sunflower oil)
  • 250 g quark
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 475 g flour
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp milk
  • possibly raisins
  • possibly almond(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 57 minutes

Mix the milk and sunflower oil with the quark. Add the sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, and egg. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir into the quark mixture. Chill the dough for 30 minutes. Roll out to a thickness of 1 cm and cut out shapes using a St. Martin’s Day stencil. Decorate with raisins or almonds, if desired. Mix the egg yolk with the milk and brush over the St. Martin’s Day cookies. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 12 minutes until golden brown.
