Caramelized pears with chocolate ice cream

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 bulb(s)
  • ½ lemon(s), juice
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 ml water
  • 4 scoops of ice cream (chocolate flavor)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Core the pears using an apple corer, halve them, and drizzle the cut sides with lemon juice. Bring the brown sugar, butter, and water to a boil in a large pan. Add the pears, cut-side down, to the mixture and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes, until caramelized. Turn over and cook for another minute. Place one pear half on each plate and drizzle with some of the sauce. Place one scoop of ice cream on each pear half. My blueberry compote from the DB is a delicious addition to the plate.
