Pears in red wine with vanilla ice cream

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 pear(s), not too soft
  • some lemon juice
  • 200 ml red wine
  • ½ cinnamon stick(s) or cinnamon powder
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • possibly mint and whipped cream for decoration

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Peel the pears, halve them, and remove the cores. Immediately drizzle with lemon juice. Bring the red wine, cinnamon, and sugar to a simmer in a saucepan. Cook the pear halves for 5-10 minutes until soft, remove, and let cool. Reduce the red wine liquid and reduce until a syrupy sauce forms. Serve with the vanilla ice cream, add the pear halves, and drizzle with the sauce over the pears and ice cream. Garnish with cream and mint, if desired.
