Simple Tarte Flambée

The perfect simple tarte flambée recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 200 g Flour
  • 100 g Water
  • 10 ml Olive oil
  • 5 g Salt
  • 200 g Sour cream
  • 150 g Onion
  • 100 g Mixed with bacon, diced
  • Pepper, dill, paprika, nutmeg
  1. Make a dough out of flour, salt, oil and water. Knead the dough until it no longer sticks to the hands (approx. 2-3 minutes), add a little flour if necessary. Let the dough rest for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Stir the sour cream until smooth and season with a little pepper, dill, paprika and nutmeg.
  3. Peel the onion, cut in half and cut into thin strips.
  4. Now roll out the dough thinly with a rolling pin on a work surface dusted with flour and place on a baking sheet or baking stone. Now brush with sour cream, spread the onion on top and sprinkle with the bacon.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven at at least 230 ° C top / bottom heat on the bottom rack for a good 20 minutes. The higher the temperature, the better for me 270 ° C.

Note

  1. Instead of bacon and onions, other toppings are also no problem. I also like to take peppers, corn; Mushrooms, sausage, leek, …. As you like, just don’t top the tarte flambée too thick, then it won’t get crispy.
  2. If you have a grill with a lid, you can also bake the tarte flambée as a snack while grilling. Bake with the lid closed. Baking time varies depending on the temperature (approx. 10-15 minutes), it is best to try it out yourself.
