Gabi's mushroom pot

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg pork schnitzel, cut into approx. 1 cm thick slices
  • 500 g bacon in one piece
  • 2 jars of mushrooms
  • 3 cups sour cream
  • ½ liter of milk
  • salt and pepper
  • some margarine

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 day 2 hours

always works, prepare one day in advance

Season the schnitzel with salt and pepper and brown it vigorously in the margarine. Then cut it into small pieces and place it in a saucepan. Dice the bacon, brown it, and add it. Add the margarine from frying the bacon to the pan. Next, spread the mushrooms (with the liquid) and the sour cream over the meat and let it marinate overnight in the refrigerator. The next day, add about 0.5–1 liter of milk, stir through, and simmer for 1 hour. Normally, you don’t need to add any more seasoning—it always tastes good. Otherwise, add salt and pepper to taste. I serve it with rice.
