Feta cheese or Gouda wrapped in bacon

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 pieces of feta cheese or Gouda
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 4 tbsp oil or 1 piece of butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

super-quick recipe with a molten core

Remove the feta or Gouda cheese from the packaging and remove the rind, if necessary. Then cut the piece lengthwise and cut into shapes (e.g., triangles). Wrap the pieces generously with bacon and secure it tightly to the ‘package’ with toothpicks. Heat oil or butter in a pan and then fry the cheese parcels on both sides until the bacon is lightly browned and/or cheese slowly oozes from the parcels (this doesn’t have to happen and depends on the wrapping technique). Then remove the parcels from the pan, remove the toothpick (this is especially useful for guests who don’t know how the bacon is held together; we once had a guest bite the wood), and serve on a plate. Serve with fresh leaf salad, French fries, or oven-baked potato wedges.
