Dutch rice dish

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 500 g turkey breast
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, sweet
  • 2 onions
  • 200 g rice
  • 2 bell peppers, red
  • ½ liter of water
  • 2 tbsp broth, granulated
  • 1 can of tomatoes, chopped
  • 200 g Gouda, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Cut the turkey breast and bell peppers into pieces. Dice the onions. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and paprika. Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the meat, and brown. Then add the onions and fry briefly. Next, add the rice and bell pepper pieces, sauté briefly, and deglaze with the water. Add the granulated stock and bring everything to a boil. Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, until the rice is tender. Then add the tomatoes and simmer a little longer. Finally, stir in the grated Gouda and serve.
