ham roll

Spread the love

Ingredients for 15 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 packet of yeast (dry yeast)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ liter of lukewarm water
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 150 g ham, raw
  • Flour , for editing
  • Fat, for the tray
  • Milk, for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Mix the flour with the dried yeast and salt. Add the lukewarm water and the egg. Knead everything into a smooth dough. Cover the dough and let stand until it has doubled in size. Cut the ham into fine cubes and knead it into the risen yeast dough. On a floured surface, form the dough into a thick roll and cut this into approx. 15 pieces. Shape the pieces into rolls and place them on a greased baking tray. Cover and let rise for a further 10 minutes. Brush the rolls with milk and bake in a preheated oven on the middle shelf. Electric oven 200°C, gas oven mark 3, fan oven 180°C. If you fry the ham in a pan with a few pieces of onion before kneading it in, the rolls taste even heartier. You can also sprinkle them with grated cheese before baking; It also tastes very delicious and even surpasses the taste of some bakers’ cheese and ham rolls!
