Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 450 g flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 day 16 hours; Total time approx. 1 day 16 hours 20 minutes

Mix yeast with sugar and 300 ml lukewarm water until smooth. Mix flour with salt, add yeast water, and knead thoroughly (about 5 minutes). Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 250 degrees Celsius (480 degrees Fahrenheit). Form dough into 2 equal-sized balls. Flatten the balls slightly, place both on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and let rest for another 10 minutes. Then bake in the center of the oven for 10-12 minutes. Tip: After 5-6 minutes of baking, briefly open the oven door, quickly pour 1/4 cup of cold water onto the oven floor, and immediately close the door. Finish baking the loaves.
