Spätzle with ham and tomatoes in cream sauce topped with cheese

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g spaetzle
  • 250 g ham
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion(s)
  • Oil for frying
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 ml cream
  • ½ tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp basil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Cook the spaetzle in salted water until al dente. Finely chop the garlic and onion and fry them in a pan with a little oil along with the finely chopped ham. Transfer the spaetzle to a baking dish. Add the fried ham. Mix the eggs and cream, add the seasonings, and pour over the spaetzle. Slice the tomatoes and arrange them on top of the spaetzle. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 25 minutes.
