Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 ml buttermilk
- 1 lemon(s)
- ½ vanilla pod(s)
- 3 sheets of gelatin
- 50 g sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 30 minutes
Bring the buttermilk, grated lemon zest, and vanilla bean seeds to a boil. Remove from the heat and let it steep. Soften the gelatin in cold water and stir into the warm mixture after about 10 minutes. Then chill over ice or in a cold water bath until the mixture begins to set. Pour into a shallow dish (or casserole dish) and refrigerate for 3-4 hours. Use a wet spoon to scrape the mousse from the surface and place it on a plate.
