Goat Cheese Tarts with Figs

The perfect goat cheese tarts with figs recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 3 Figs
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1 branch Rosemary
  • 1,5 tbsp Liquid honey
  • 4 tbsp White port
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Splash Lemon juice
  • 200 g Feta
  • 3 Stems Basil
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 leaves Pastry
  • Salt and pepper
  1. Clean the figs and cut eighths lengthways. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan. Add the figs and rosemary and sauté for 1 minute. Add honey and port wine and reduce slightly. Season with balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, salt and pepper and set aside.
  2. Melt the remaining butter in a saucepan. Cut the strudel pastry sheets into 4 squares. Place the pastry sheets side by side and brush with melted butter. Cut the feta into suitable rectangles and place them in the middle of each sheet of pastry, fold the edges of the pastry clockwise towards the center and brush with the remaining butter.
  3. Heat a shallow ovenproof pan and distribute the oil in it. Place the goat cheese tarts in the pan with the dough side down and fry for 1 minute. Then place in the preheated oven at 200 degrees and bake on the middle rack for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  4. In the meantime, pluck the basil leaves off. Arrange the tarts and port wine figs on plates and serve sprinkled with basil.
