Homemade Farmer’s Pot
The perfect homemade farmer’s pot recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 g Minced meat
- 4 Potatoes
- 2 Carrots
- 2 Paprika
- 0,5 pole Leek
- 400 g Chunky tomatoes
- 1 liter Chicken broth
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 2 Onions
- 1 Clove of garlic
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 200 g Sour cream
- 1 tsp Caraway seed
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Nutmeg
- Fry the minced meat. In the meantime, wash and peel the vegetables. Cut the potatoes, carrots, peppers, onions and the garlic into small cubes. The leek is cut into fine rings.
- When the minced meat is done, set it aside in a bowl. Meanwhile, fry the remaining ingredients in the pan with a little oil.
- When everything has got a little color, we add the meat again. Add the tomato paste to the pan and toast it briefly. Deglaze the whole thing with the broth.
- Add the caraway seeds and tomatoes and cover and simmer over medium heat for about 40 minutes.
- To reduce the sauce, remove the lid and simmer for another 10 minutes. When it has thickened a little, carefully stir in the sour cream. And season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. A fresh farmer’s bread goes well with it.
