Fried Potatoes with Currywurst …

The perfect fried potatoes with currywurst … recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the fried potatoes:

  • 6 Jacket potatoes from the previous day
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Ham cubes
  • 1 size Chopped onion
  • Pepper salt

For the currywurst:

  • 3 Rostbratwurst
  • 2 Onions
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper
  • 1 Splash Maggi
  • 1 Splash Hot curry ketchup
  • 1 Splash Curry powder

For the fried potatoes:

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into small slices; Sauté the butter with the diced ham and add the potatoes, then sprinkle with the onions and fry until the underside of the potatoes begins to brown. Sprinkle with pepper and salt and fry, turning several times, until the desired color is achieved.
  2. I always strive for a mild golden brown color, because my dear husband doesn’t like to eat heavily browned – he thinks that carbohydrates that are too browned are “unhealthy” …. I’ve got used to it – and tastes are just different!

For the currywurst:

  1. Halve the onions and cut into small slices, then fry them in a heated pan with a little oil, turning them several times, until they have turned an appetizing golden brown; then lift out of the pan and set aside, season with pepper, salt and a few drops of Maggi. Now put the sausages in the pan and fry them until golden brown.
  2. Put the onions back into the pan with the sausages to warm them up and then serve with the fried potatoes. Nap the sausages with curry ketchup, powder some curry over them and …… enjoy your meal!
  3. Goes well with a spicy tomato salad.
