Islak Kek (wet Cake)
The perfect islak kek (wet cake) recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the dough
- 5 Pc. Eggs
- 250 ml Milk
- 250 ml Oil (not olive oil)
- 250 g Sugar
- 250 gr Sifted flour
- 1 packet Baking powder
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 4 tbsp Cocoa powder (no nesquik)
- 100 gr Ground hazelnuts
For the sauce
- 200 gr Sugar
- 250 ml Milk
- 100 ml Oil
- 3 tbsp Cocoa powder
The cake
- Put all the ingredients for the dough in a bowl, mix well with a mixer and fill into a square or rectangular loaf pan / baking dish. Bake at 180 ° C for about 35-40 minutes.
The sauce
- While you are doing this, put the ingredients for the sauce in a small saucepan, bring to the boil while stirring and set aside. Take the cake out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes and poke a lot of small holes with a skewer. Then cut the cake into small, square pieces and spread the sauce, which is still very warm to hot, over it. Best to enjoy it warm! Good Appetite!
