Islak Kek (wet Cake)

  • 250 ml Oil (not olive oil)
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 250 gr Sifted flour
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 4 tbsp Cocoa powder (no nesquik)
  • 100 gr Ground hazelnuts

For the sauce

  • 200 gr Sugar
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 100 ml Oil
  • 3 tbsp Cocoa powder

The cake

  1. Put all the ingredients for the dough in a bowl, mix well with a mixer and fill into a square or rectangular loaf pan / baking dish. Bake at 180 ° C for about 35-40 minutes.

The sauce

  1. While you are doing this, put the ingredients for the sauce in a small saucepan, bring to the boil while stirring and set aside. Take the cake out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes and poke a lot of small holes with a skewer.
