Serviette Dumplings À La Sherlock
The perfect serviette dumplings à la sherlock recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 8 Pc. Bun old
- 125 ml Milk lukewarm
- 6 Pc. Eggs
- 1 Pc. Diced onion
- 6 tbsp Chopped parsley
- 2 tbsp Chopped basil
- Salt
- Nutmeg
- 120 g Butter
- Cut the rolls into cubes and place in a bowl. Warm the milk and pour it over the bread cubes.
- Dice the onion and sauté in a pan with a little butter until translucent, add parsley and basil. Add the whole thing to the bread cubes.
- Separate the eggs. Mix the egg yolks with the remaining butter until foamy, add salt and nutmeg and also add to the bread cubes. Knead the whole thing well.
- Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the bread roll mixture.
- Place part of the bread roll mixture on cling film and wrap it like a candy. Heat water in a (large) saucepan and add salt. Place the “candies” in the almost boiling water and cook for 1 hour, after half an hour turn the dumplings so that they cook immediately.
- Instead of cling film, you can also use a large napkin or another large cloth.
- As soon as the dumplings are completely cooked, cut off slices and place them in the pan with a little butter and roast the slices. Tastes very good with goulash or with a nice roast venison.
