Matjessalat with Fried Potatoes

The perfect matjessalat with fried potatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 Herring fillets
  • 2 Spring onions
  • 0,5 Apple
  • 0,25 Freshly diced cucumber
  • 3 tbsp Cream quark 0.2% fat
  • 1 tbsp Skimmed yogurt
  • Salt pepper
  • Dill
  • 3 Jacket potatoes from the previous day
  • 3 Oil
  1. Wash, peel and cut the apple into fine cubes. Clean, wash and cut the spring onions into rings, rinse the herring fillets under running water and cut into larger cubes, put everything in a bowl together with the cucumber cubes
  2. Mix quark, yoghurt, salt, pepper and dill into a sauce and add to the bowl, stir carefully and let it steep
  3. Peel the peeled potatoes and cut into slices. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the potatoes until they are crispy, season with salt and serve with the salad.
