Fast Kaiserschmarrn
The perfect fast kaiserschmarrn recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 4 Tbsp, slightly heaped Flour
- 2 tbsp Sour cream 10% fat
- 10 tbsp Milk
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 2 cl Rum or a few drops of rum flavor
- 4 Pc. Eggs
- 1 tbsp Raisins
- 2 tbsp Butter
- Icing sugar for dusting
- Applesauce, cranberries or another compote to serve
- Briefly stir together the flour, sour cream, milk, salt, vanilla sugar and rum, leaving no lumps.
- Mix in the eggs only briefly, you should still see egg streaks in the dough. Fold in the raisins. Let the dough rest for a few minutes.
- Heat the butter in a large pan and let the batter run in. Put the lid on and switch back to medium heat. Wait about 5 minutes, then the dough should have risen nicely. Now turn the dough over. Put the cover back on.
- Slightly increase the heat and wait approx. 2-3 minutes for the dough to rise again. Now pluck / tear the dough into small pieces. Dust with icing sugar and serve with applesauce.
- If you prepare the Kaiserschmarrn in this way, it may not taste quite like the original, but it is still no less tasty. I think it’s a mixture of thick pancakes and Kaiserschmarrn.
