Tafelspitz with Onion Sauce
The perfect tafelspitz with onion sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 kg Tafelspitz from beef
- 4 size Onions
- 0,5 stg Leek
- 1 essl Margarine
- 2 essl Vinegar essence
- 3 essl Sugar
- 2 essl Mustard medium hot
- 1 Gherkins
- Some white pepper
- Light sauce binder
- Boil tafelspitz with soup vegetables in water for about 2.5 hours (see my rzb beef soup).
- Braise the diced onions in margarine. Add leek cut into rings. Approx. Pour in 1l broth from the boiled beef. Approx. half an hour Simmer.
- Add the mustard, sugar, vinegar and the sliced cucumber. Thicken with a sauce thickener and season to taste again.
- Cut the meat into slices and pour the sauce over them.
