Cevapcici with Balkan Rice
The perfect cevapcici with balkan rice recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the cevapcici:
- 300 g Ground beef
- 1 Large clove of garlic
- 0,5 tsp Salt
- 0,5 tsp Pepper
- 0,5 tsp Sweet paprika
- 0,5 tsp Chili powder
- 2 tbsp 1 –2 tbsp Öl
For the Balkan rice:
- 80 g Rice
- 0,5 tsp Salt
- 1 Onion approx. 100 g
- 1 Red bell pepper approx. 200 g
- 80 g Peas frozen
- 1 tbsp Tomato paste
- 0,5 Can Chunky tomatoes 200 g
- 0,5 tsp Salt
- 0,5 tsp Pepper
- 0,5 tsp Sweet paprika
- 0,5 tsp Chili powder
To serve:
- 1 Tomato cut in half
Cevapcici:
- Peel the garlic clove and dice very finely. Put all ingredients (minced beef, clove garlic, salt, pepper, sweet paprika and chili powder) in a bowl and mix / knead well. Shape 8 cevapcici with moistened hands, fry them in a pan with oil (1 – 2 tablespoons) on all sides until golden-brown, remove and keep warm in the oven at 50 ° C.
Balkan rice:
- Cook the rice according to the spring rice method (see my recipe: Cooking rice) in salted water (1 teaspoon) and let it evaporate. Peel and dice the onion. Clean, wash and dice the peppers. Fry the onion cubes, paprika cubes and peas vigorously in the roasting fat. Fold in tomato paste (1 tbsp) and fry with Add the chunky tomatoes (200 g) and season with salt (½ teaspoon), pepper (½ teaspoon), sweet paprika (½ teaspoon) and chili powder (½ teaspoon). Let everything simmer for about 5 minutes. Fold in the cooked rice and warm it up briefly.
Serve:
- Serve the cevapcici with Balkan rice and half a tomato each.
