Berliner with Cast

The perfect berliner with cast recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

for filling

  • 1 Yeast
  • 0,25 liter Milk
  • 100 g Butter
  • 2 Free range eggs
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoon Rum
  • Jam

Molding

  • 250 g Powdered sugar
  • Lemon juice

for frying

  • 1 kg Fat for deep-frying
  1. Make yeast dough and let rise until it has doubled
  2. Tear off small pieces, flatten the palm of your hand and put a teaspoon of jam in the middle and close the piece of dough well. Do the same with the rest of the dough until it is used up
  3. Place on a tea towel dusted with flour, seam facing down, and let rise for approx. 1 hour
  4. Heat 1 kg vegetable fat and bake the donuts in them until they are light brown. Turn until the second side is also brown. remove on crepe degrease. Make icing from powdered sugar and lemon juice and coat the donuts with it
