Curry Sauce for Currywurst

The perfect curry sauce for currywurst recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Pc. Onion
  • 2 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • 2 tsp Curry
  • 1 Can Mixed fruits
  • 100 gr, Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Pc. Apple
  • 1 Can Tomatoes peeled canned

  1. The medium-sized apple is peeled, cored and cut into small pieces. Then put it on top with a little water in a small saucepan. Season with a pinch of sugar and use it to cook applesauce. The whole thing should be ready in 10 to 15 minutes that you can process it into puree with a hand blender.

  1. Peel the onions, cut in half and cut into very fine cubes. If you like, you can also add a clove of garlic. Braise the whole thing in a saucepan with olive oil
  2. Then add curry and sauté. First open the can with mixed fruits.
  3. Then add paprika and tomato paste and sauté briefly
  4. Deglaze the whole thing with about half of the juice from the fruit. And then add the tomatoes. Also about 2/3 of the applesauce.
  5. Bring everything to the boil and then add 4-5 large spoons of the mixed fruits. Bring to the boil briefly and then use a blender to make a creamy sauce.
  6. Let the whole simmer for about 10 minutes. Then season to taste with a little balsamic vinegar, curry, salt and paprika powder. If you like, you can also add some chilli flakes if you want the whole thing to be a little more fiery.
  7. Then simmer gently on a low flame, fry the sausages, cut into slices, sprinkle with curry powder to taste, pour the sauce over it and enjoy.
