Baked Onion Potatoes
The perfect baked onion potatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 8 middle Potatoes
- 2 Red Onions
- 100 g Butter
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 100 g Pecorino, freshly grated
- Salt
- Wash the potatoes well and dry them. Peel the onions and cut into thin slices. Grease an ovenproof dish with a little butter. Mix the remaining butter with plenty of salt and then grate the two cloves of garlic and mix well. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- Now cut open the potatoes in a fan shape, always cut lengthways, but do not cut all the way through. And don’t cut in too many compartments, otherwise they’ll break apart afterwards.
- Now put a slice of onion in each cut and place the potatoes in the ovenproof dish. Do this with every potato. Then season the potatoes with plenty of salt and spread the garlic butter in flakes over the potatoes. Now put the mold in the oven for 50 minutes.
- After 50 minutes, sprinkle the grated pecorino on the potatoes and bake for another 10 minutes. We had oven tomatoes with it.
