Apple Poppy Tart
The perfect apple poppy tart recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
dough
- 200 g Butter
- 100 g Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 Egg
- 300 g Flour
Covering
- 1 kilogram Tart apples
- 40 g Ground poppy seeds
- 30 g Sugar
- 2 tablespoon Milk
- 2 tablespoon Food starch
- 400 g Sour cream
- 2 Eggs
- Almond sticks
dough
- Stir the butter until foamy and gradually add the other ingredients, knead in until a smooth dough is formed, wrap in foil and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Covering
- Peel the apples, remove the core and cut into wedges.
- Mix the poppy seeds, sugar, milk, cornstarch, sour cream and eggs.
- Now roll out the dough into a tart pan (28 cm diameter) while pulling up one edge.
- Spread the poppy seed filling on top, cover with the apple slices and put in the 200c. warm oven for approx. 50-55 minutes.
- If you want, you can sprinkle a few more almond sticks on the cake.
- Take the baked cake out of the oven – let it cool down, sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy with a cup of coffee.
