Cake Kit – Vanilla Buttercream
The perfect cake kit – vanilla buttercream recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 ml Milk
- 2 Egg yolk
- 40 g Food starch
- 40 g Sugar
- 1 Vanilla pod
- 1 tbsp Hardened coconut oil
- 250 g Butter
- Remove some of the milk and stir in the cornstarch, sugar and egg yolks.
- Cut the vanilla pod lengthways and scrape it out with a knife. Bring the vanilla pulp to the boil with the rest of the milk. The scraped out vanilla pod can also be cooked.
- When the milk boils, fish out the vanilla pod and stir in the starch mixture, bring to the boil and then simmer for about 3 minutes. Stir in the coconut oil until it has melted.
- Let the pudding cool while stirring several times. I usually put the pot in cold water so that it goes faster.
- In the meantime, whip the butter until creamy. When the pudding has cooled down, stir the pudding into the butter spoon by spoon.
- The buttercream is enough for one layer (or 2 thin layers) and the coating of the cake.
