Spicy Baking: Filo Rolls

The perfect spicy baking: filo rolls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 5 piece Filo pastry sheets 30 x 31 cm
  • 0,5 piece Pointed cabbage fresh and small
  • 1 piece Fresh onion
  • 100 g Sheep cheese
  • 3 Discs Smoked ham
  • 2 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch Black pepper from the mill
  • 1 pinch Salt
  1. Remove the cabbage from the stalk and cut into fine strips. Peel the onion and chop finely. Cut the ham into cubes and crumble the feta cheese in a bowl.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan and first fry the onion and the diced ham. Then add the cabbage and roast everything until the cabbage is quite soft. Do not add any water, rather lower the temperature.
  3. Roll out the filo pastry sheets as instructed and cut them lengthways once.
  4. Now distribute part of the cabbage filling on the upper end of the pastry sheet. Leave some of the edge free for wrapping. Spread some sheep cheese on the filling and then roll up the dough.
  5. Place on a baking sheet with the open side down and bake the rolls at 190 degrees convection until light brown. You can also deep-fry them.
  6. The sweet chili sauce from toscanine is served as a dip with it
