Kale with Smoked Pork and Fried Potatoes

The perfect kale with smoked pork and fried potatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 KG Kale frozen
  • 750 g Kasseler
  • Lard
  • Onion
  • 300 ml. Meatsoup
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 5 Allspice grains
  • 10 Peppercorns
  • Mashed potato powder

  • 1,5 KG Potatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Hot paprika powder
  • Clarified butter
  1. Peel and dice the onion and sauté with the diced ham in the lard until translucent, add the kale, sauté briefly and pour the meat stock, season with the spices, place the meat on the kale and simmer gently in a closed pot for approx. 60 minutes .
  2. Boil the potatoes, let them cool down, peel them, cut them into slices, season with salt, pepper, paprika and oregano and fry them in clarified butter while turning them several times, peel and dice the onions and fry them with the fried potatoes.
  3. If the kale still has too much liquid, I bind it with mashed potato powder.
  4. Slice the meat and serve with the kale and fried potatoes.
