Liver Strips in Metaxa with Tzaziki
The perfect liver strips in metaxa with tzaziki recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 300 g Pork liver
- 1 Onion
- 100 ml Metaxa
- 300 g Greek yogurt 10% fat
- 4 Toes Garlic
- 0,5 Cucumber
- Olive oil
- Salt
- White milled pepper
- Flour
- For the tzaziki, put the yogurt in a bowl, squeeze in 4 cloves of garlic and mix with salt, pepper and olive oil. Then cover and place in the refrigerator. Let it steep for about 4 hours. Grate the cucumber into small strips and let it steep in a bowl with salt and a pinch of sugar water.
- Peel the onion, cut in half and cut into thin strips. Cut the leber into fork-sized strips and dust with flour in a bowl. Fry the onions in a pan with hot olive oil until they turn lightly brown. Add the liver and let it take color all around. Fry for about 5 minutes and season with salt and pepper. Deglaze with Metaxa and let it reduce briefly.
- Just before serving, add the drained cucumber to the yogurt and serve. Ebly, rice or flatbread go well with this.
