  • A high amount of sugar in the liqueur also has a preservative effect, although not as strong as alcohol. You can usually keep a liqueur with a high sugar content for several months after opening.
  • The situation is different with liqueurs that contain easily perishable ingredients. This includes, for example, cream or eggnog. The bottles should be used up as soon as possible after opening.
  • It is important that you store liqueurs with perishable ingredients in a cool place after opening, preferably in the refrigerator. The same applies to vermouth, by the way.
