Make Caraway Tea Yourself – That’s How it Works

Making your own caraway tea is very easy

You can easily prepare caraway tea yourself. The spice, which was already used in ancient Egypt, has a good effect on digestion and relieves coughs and menstrual pain, among other things. The following instructions explain exactly how to prepare the spicy tea:

  • Strictly speaking, you only need 1 to 2 teaspoons of caraway seeds, a cup, and self-fillable tea bags or a tea strainer.
  • You can optionally add fennel and anise seeds if you want to enhance the health effect or refine the taste.
  • Crush the seeds in a mortar, but do not grind them. Now fill the seeds in a tea strainer or tea bag.
  • Boil the water and put it in a cup with the tea. Let the cumin steep for about 10 minutes. Then remove the bag or the sieve. A second brewing is unfortunately not possible with caraway.
  • Afterward, it is best to drink the tea in small sips so that the full effect of the essential oils can unfold.
  • Caution: do not use cumin in the preparation. Therefore, you should definitely buy the right seeds.
