The Porc Fermier grows up in small and family groups with lots of space. His homeland is the Belgian Ardennes. The stalls are semi-open, lined with soft, fresh straw and the pigs are given plenty of daylight to roam freely. In addition, the Porc Fermier is not slaughtered as early as pigs from conventional pig breeding.
In addition, the farmer pig is fed high-quality food consisting primarily of cereals. The animals all live under species-appropriate, natural conditions. These relaxed, complex rearing conditions ultimately result in the juicy and tender meat of the farmer’s pigs being of very good quality.
