Cook asparagus in a water bath
Cooking asparagus in the oven has several advantages. On the one hand, the full aroma remains and, on the other hand, you can relax and prepare the side dishes while the asparagus is cooking.
- Use a deep baking tray and spread out the cleaned asparagus on it.
- Put a pinch of salt and sugar over the asparagus and add 1 liter of water.
- The asparagus is especially tasty if you add a few flakes of butter.
- Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Cook the asparagus for about 45 minutes at 200 °C.
Cook the asparagus in the roasting tube
There is also the option of cooking the asparagus in a roasting tube. This makes it particularly tender.
- Fill the asparagus into the roasting tube and add a pinch of sugar and salt. A few knobs of butter are also welcome.
- Then add a small cup of white wine or broth to the roasting tube.
- Seal the tube and place it on a baking sheet.
- Now cook the asparagus for about 25-30 minutes at 200 °C.
