Apple and bean pot with smoked pork

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g Kasseler salmon roast, cut into large cubes
  • 100 g bacon, streaky smoked, finely diced
  • 2 onions, cut into rings
  • 500 g beans, green
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 garlic clove(s), crushed
  • 1 tsp savory, shredded
  • salt and pepper
  • 250 ml apple juice
  • 500 ml vegetable stock
  • 400 g apples, in wedges

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Wash and trim the beans. Heat the butter and fry the bacon and meat cubes. Add the onion rings and fry briefly. Add the crushed garlic clove along with the beans and savory and season with pepper. Pour in the apple juice and vegetable stock. Let everything simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes. Stir the apples into the stew about 10 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Season the apple and bean stew again with salt and pepper before serving.
