Grandma's Brussels sprout stew with meatballs

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 kg Brussels sprouts
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 1 liter of broth
  • salt and pepper
  • marjoram
  • nutmeg
  • Fenugreek
  • 5 sausages, coarse

Instructions

Dice the onion and fry in a little oil. Peel and dice the potatoes. Add to the onions, deglaze with the broth, and bring the broth to a boil. Trim and halve the Brussels sprouts. Add to the potatoes after about 10 minutes. The vegetables should be covered. Season with a little marjoram, nutmeg, and a pinch of fenugreek, and season with pepper. Use salt sparingly at first, as the meatballs will still release some salt. When the potatoes are cooked, press small balls out of the sausages, add them to the soup, and heat until hot. Season to taste and serve.
