Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 150 g beans, white
  • 150 g beans, brown
  • 2 liters of water
  • 100 g bacon, streaky
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 liter beef stock
  • Salt
  • ½ tsp thyme, dried
  • 200 g beans, fresh green
  • 200 g beans (yellow wax beans)
  • ½ tsp savory, dried
  • possibly sausage (smoked sausage)
  • possibly potatoes

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

In the pressure cooker

Soak the white and brown beans overnight in 2 liters of water, then drain and set aside. Dice the bacon. Peel the onion and garlic and dice both finely. Place the bacon cubes in a pressure cooker and fry. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until translucent. Add the beans and beef stock, season with salt and thyme, and cook in a covered pot for 8 minutes. In the meantime, trim and break the green and wax beans, then add them to the pot with the beans. Add the savory and cook in a covered pot for another 5 minutes. If desired, smoked sausage and some finely diced potatoes are also delicious with the dish, but cook them separately and add them just before serving. If cooked in a regular pot, the cooking time is approximately 60 minutes.
