Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 white cabbage
  • 2 onions
  • 300 g minced meat (beef)
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp paprika powder
  • ¼ liter meat broth
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 200 g cheese (Gouda), grated
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • salt and pepper
  • Butter for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

White cabbage casserole

Remove the outer leaves from the white cabbage. Quarter the white cabbage and remove the stalk. Wash the white cabbage and cut into finger-thick strips. Peel and finely chop the onions. Heat the butter in a saucepan and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the minced meat and fry for 5 minutes. Add the white cabbage, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix the meat broth with the tomato paste and add to the minced meat and cabbage mixture. Sauté everything together for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Then place the cabbage mixture in a buttered baking dish. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top. Beat the eggs for 2 minutes, then add the milk and a little salt. Mix everything thoroughly. Pour this mixture over the casserole and bake everything together in the oven for about 35 minutes. Serve with flatbread.
