Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 700 g flour
  • 350 ml water, lukewarm
  • 100 ml oil
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp sugar
  • 2 points of dry yeast or 1 cube of fresh yeast
  • 4 tbsp syrup (grape), pekmez or sugar cane syrup)
  • sesame

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Dissolve the yeast in a mug with a little sugar and warm water and let stand for about five minutes. Then add it to the remaining ingredients and knead everything into a smooth dough. Let it rest for about 45-60 minutes. Form the dough into medium-sized balls. Then poke your finger into the center of the dough ball and make a hole about 3-5 cm in diameter. Let all the dough pieces rest for about five minutes. Mix four tablespoons of pekmez with four tablespoons of water, dip the dough rings for a few seconds and then immediately roll them in the sesame seeds. Let the sesame rings rest, covered, on the baking sheet for another ten minutes, then bake for about 20-25 minutes at 200-220°C.
