Sesame flatbread

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g wheat flour, type 550
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 125 g margarine
  • 250 ml water, lukewarm
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • e.g. sesame

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

makes 1 large flatbread

Combine the wheat flour, dried yeast, salt, margarine, and lukewarm water in a bowl and knead with a hand mixer for 5 minutes. Preheat the oven to 50°C for 5 minutes, then turn off and let the covered dough rise in the oven for 15 minutes. Knead again and let it rise in the oven for another 15 minutes. Form the dough into a flatbread approximately 25 cm in diameter. If you like, you can press small dents into it with your finger. Whisk the egg with the water and brush the flatbread with it. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake for 30–35 minutes in a preheated oven at 180°C fan/convection oven or 200°C top/bottom heat on the second rack from the bottom.
