Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 large onions
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp paprika powder (if possible Allspiceón de la Vera)
  • 1 jar white wine
  • 1 lemon(s), juice
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • some honey
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Oven baked cebollas

In a bowl, combine olive oil, white wine, lemon juice, salt, pepper, honey, and paprika. Place the peeled onions in a well-greased dish and sprinkle with the chopped garlic. Then carefully pour over the sauce. Cover with aluminum foil. Cook in a preheated oven at 160ºC for about 90 minutes. Serve as a side dish with meat dishes or on its own with baguette.
