Apples in pastry

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 apples
  • 50 g sugar
  • 6 tbsp brandy
  • 180 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 300 g fat, for frying
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • Flour, for turning

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

Apple buns

Peel the apples, core them, and cut them into 1/2 cm thick slices. Place them in a shallow dish. Sprinkle the sugar and brandy over the slices. Let them sit for 1 hour. Mix the flour and baking powder. Add the marinade from the apples and the egg. Whisk everything into a smooth batter, adding a little more water if necessary. Heat the frying oil to 180°C. Pat the apple slices dry, coat them first in flour, then in the batter, and fry in the hot oil until light golden. Drain on kitchen paper, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm as a dessert.
