Orange liqueur with basil

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 orange(s), untreated
  • 120 g rock sugar, white
  • 2 sprigs basil
  • 700 ml grappa

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest period approx. 21 days; Total time approx. 21 days 10 minutes

Wash the orange with hot water, dry it, and peel it thinly with a vegetable peeler (do not remove the white part). Place the rock candy in a 1-liter bottle, add the orange zest and basil, and fill with grappa. Seal the bottle and let the liqueur steep for 3 weeks.
